By Car  If you prefer to drive, there are many motorway links from the Channel ports and northern European countries to get you well south of Paris. From Orléans the A71, or Tours the A85, both lead to the main interchanges at Vierzon, from where the A20 heads south past Châteauroux to Limoges - this section is toll-free, and generally traffic-free too. The total toll from Calais is less than €35, depending on the route you choose.
Whether you are coming from the north or south, take exit 20 off the A20, then follow the D36 through Argentières to Eguzon (about 10 minutes from the motorway). In the town centre, turn right onto the D913 towards Crozant and Dun-le-Palestel (you will pass the supermarket and petrol station on your right as you leave the town). After 6 km, a blue sign reads "Département de la Creuse". Shortly after, the road turns left, then straightens out. Shortly afterwards, take the first road on the right. This is the short road to Villeneuve.
